Warm countryside tones and beautiful autumn landscapes summed up Susana and Manuel’s wedding in Madrid on the 8/10/2016. Hilario Sanchez Photography brings us this autumn masterpiece with a delicate selection of wedding pictures that shows just how beautiful this couple can be on their big day at Our Lady of Olartia.
Their story began on the beaches of Thailand in the summer of 2014. Diving among colorful fishes, destiny provided them a chance of acquaintanceship in a famous diving school in Koh Tao Island, PURA VIDA. When the days came to an end, both of them went back to their own lives, but later they somehow understood that the encounter was not a mere coincidence. Fast forward a month later, on their way back to Spain, they met again at the boarding gate of Bangkok airport. They were flying together, coming back to Spain on the same flight and seats! That flight changed their lives forever and it remain close to heart for them.
A year later, Manuel, intentionally misleading Susana, took her to Lapland. Once there, he proposed to her with a beautiful diamond and white gold ring from YANES. The proposal was thoroughly meditated and the whole journey felt like an overflowing illusion. An ocean of happiness flooded their hearts that very day and here they are finally to tie their knot!
Our bride, Susan chose a dress from a young designer Claudia Llagostera. In silk cream, sedaline and lace, she was evermore elegant with a veil of tulle complemented by a precious semi-crown of Suma Cruz. Her hairstyle and makeup were soft and natural as Susana wanted to feel like herself on this most important day. Seeking hep from one of her best friends, her makeup made her skin glow naturally under the autumn light. Her husband, Manuel wore a deep navy suit over a burlap inspired pattern vest with a matching necktie. Looking smart and suave, he is all set for the wedding!
Although they live in Madrid itself, their wedding celebration took place in Rioja, a region where Susana grew up and where they wanted to make their marriage public. The religious ceremony took place in Rodezno, in the Hermitage of Our Lady Virgin of Olartia. Susana who have long been celebrating all her sacraments in this hermitage was extremely excited as this place hold an enormous sentimental value for her. In her opinion, The ceremony couldn’t be celebrated anywhere else.
After exchanging rings and vows, they left the ceremony hall. Susana who was seen leading her groom look like an overly excited bride impatient to get the floral petals thrown over them. Hugs and greeting were exchanged as guests flocked around them to give their blessings.
With a beautiful deep maroon autumn inspired bouquet in Susan’s hand, they spent their extra time taking more intimate pictures out in the golden-hued fields. Parallel looking golden plants randomly on the ground add a dimensional perspective to all of their pictures, creating a vast depth to their surroundings.
Afterwards, they all went to Haro (Rioja’s wine capital), to eat and dance at the Hotel Los Agustinos. It is an ancient nicely restored convent that both of them could not refuse to choose due to the beauty of its inner cloister. Frame-like structure of white baskets and jars are filled with white and auburn maroon flowers. Deep green sprigs were inserted into the jars as well with some occasional leaves on the dining table.
Every guest wore their best to this wedding of Manuel and Susana. Some like these two wore fascinators that match the wedding color theme pretty well.
Toasts were given to this couple and everyone was busy giving kisses, even like the next picture below. One of the most exciting moment was the delivery of the floral bouquet to Manuel’s 92 years old grandmother as she has been his main support in life. At the same time, Paco Candela’s song “Mis cuatro rosas” (My four roses) started playing. The emotionally fueled scene caused the whole family to burst into tears.
And then, more surprises came, they opened the dance with ¨Writing’s on the Wall¨ by Sam Smith. Shortly after that, a video with the most special moments was shared by one of their guests. Mini individual fireworks and dancing continued on and everyone partied late till night, making this an awesome and memorable wedding. Thanks again to Manuel and Susana for this beautiful autumn wedding that will remain in our hearts forever.
