Tis the season for wedding bells to be ringing and the sweet cherubs above to begin singing. Hearts are fluttering and the entire team here at La Bride definitely believes that this splendid editorial by Tony Gigov is certainly the definition of contrasting perfection with its gorgeous historic backdrop and elegant modern elements.
Creatives in the wedding industry, a team of the finest vendors in Vienna came together to create a cohesive theme with elements of Secession tradition, contemporary design and also give a sprinkle of their own personal touch to the shooting. It was of the utmost importance to everyone involved to take inspiration from their surroundings and create a breathtaking editorial that would show off the true essence of Vienna and represent it in such an outstanding way like never before. Set in the gorgeous Klimt Villa Wien, there was no doubt that the team chose a culturally rich backdrop full of amazing tales to go along with its proud history.
Having everything in the wedding being inspired by the Viennese Secession definitely helped to showcase the beauty of tradition mixed with modern chicness. Used as a motif throughout the wedding, the lovely black and white Wiener Werkstätte bordure designed exclusively by Herz&Co. was the perfect mixture of vintage “secessionist” and present day stylishness and could be found from the sleek Lobmeyr glassware to the beautifully executed three tier wedding cake created by Demel which showed the geometrical simplicity and sophistication of the era.
With the Viennese Secession theme in full volume, a chic color palette of white, black and gold was used to really help emphasize the elegance and sophistication of the era. The understated elegance of the table setting combined traditional tableware, silver cutlery and glassware with a fresh twist on florals and stationery for that perfect combination of old and new. Placed over the top of the highly exquisite black linen provided by “Zur schwäbischen Jungfrau” with flawless class and style in mind were some stunning black and gold Secession tableware by Augarten Porzellanmanufaktur. For the ultimate fairytale flourish, a modern approach to the white, black and gold palette was taken when it came to the flowers. The centrepiece was coloured with petals of white, hydrangea, gold and placed into a modern black vase for maximum impact.
However, truly, this memorable wedding spread would definitely not have been able to be the success that it was without our stunning bride and her knight in shining armour close by. Gliding across the set like an angel sent from above, the bride in her lovely Pronovias Dress provided by Karin Krizek reflected the “historic” yet modern look of the Viennese Secession, and as it was traditional of ladies during the Viennese Secession to grace the world with a hat, especially for this editorial, Birgit from von Feichtinger Blumen created a stunning bridal hat intricately handcrafted out of fresh flowers. To top it all off, from the gorgeous platinum ring with a turmalin, elegant white gold earrings and breathtaking green beryl baguette, the fine jewels by Schullin brought touches of pure refinery onto the set.
