Being a personal fan of green, imagine the surprise and glee of mine when this couple’s wedding is on the block! Readers, if you share my cup of tea, do head over to take a look at Robin and Michael’s wedding by Twig & Olive Photography. Held in Hubbard Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this wedding showcases a blend of nature’s best pastel greens and earthy browns, creating a calm and picturesque moment for all.
Everything was inspired by nature, from the wedding dress itself to the bathrobes everyone wore during preparation. Hanging still in front of a painting is a mermaid- skirt- dress with circular, scalloped embellishments lining up in different sizes and angles of v-crosses, creating illusory images of leaves from far.
Their bathrobes were more fun and colourful. Robin’s one was a simple flowers on white while her bridesmaids had the same flower patterns on a mint green dress.
The men were not spared from green too. As we have said, green is the vital colour here! Michael had the same shade of green for his bow tie and everyone had a corsage of green pine sprigs, wheat and a beer cap. Their outer suit and pants however, were more of an earthy tone.
Tactfully, Robin gave her dad a green and black tie with a consoling message stating that he was her first love. Not to worry dad, we are sure Robin is happy with Michael here.
With a cute message “choose a seat, not a side, we are all family once the knot is tied”, everyone is welcomed to join in as an audience to the wedding ceremony itself. Under a lovely silhouette of dry arched barks, they sealed their knot and exchanged their rings.
A meaningful act followed where Michael poured more soil into a sack of blossoming tree, signalling the beginning and blossoming of their relationship into husband and wife from here on.
After the ceremony, some outdoor shots were taken in Hubbard park. Most of them with meaningful glances between Michael and Robin. Their embrace was charming, their kisses were sweet and we are envious, yet concurrently happy for them both.
Most of all, taking a step to safety without getting your shoes soaked could never be easier! It’s the right time to get some help from your spouse!
After all the outdoor shots, it was time for the reception. The reception was held at Shorewood river club. Once you enter, a wooden panel with their surname, Faber greets you and guests are kindly reminded that without them present this wedding would never be possible.
Beers are served and the wedding cake was different. With unfinished sweeping patterns of cream around, it may seem like a rushed work at first. But with the detail placement of leaves, flower garnishes and that sweet couple birds in their nest, this cakes conveys a sweetness and romance unabashedly. A rustic masterpiece that goes along well in theme with their wedding.
The dinner was an enjoyable one with speeches given by their friends and toasts to welcome them as a new couple. Thanks again to Twig & Olive Photography for everything and may this couple be truly blessed in years to come.
