Fireworks appear whenever we are with the one we love. Looking into their eyes, we see them burning and they sparkle with a hiss of bright flame. Napa born and bred Marisa and her Swiss soulmate Paul are two fireworks that burn brightly for one other, and when they come in contact, they sizzle greater! Brought to you by Melina Wallisch Photography, this couple’s backyard wedding gives you inspirations and dreams, setting you on your search for your own firework too!
Everything was planned and prepared to its very best. Ivory heels with shiny diamonds for the footwear while a scalloped neckline sheer lace overlays satin skirts for the wedding dress. Root and Riot tops the contrast with hues of maroon, peaches and pink for the florals, creating an extravagant bouquet.
The bridesmaid team had a similar smaller bouquet each of maroon and white. With deep navy blue dresses, they highlighted Marisa with all the beauty one would expect from a summer wedding!
The men were all in suits with matching bright blue ties. Mini blooming flowers of white and maroon became their corsage.Paul’s expression was that of joy the whole day. Anxious to greet his bride, he is anticipating the final moment to exchange their vows!
As Marisa was led down by her dad, friends and family looked on fondly with admiration and a smile. And after everyone was seated, it was time for the vows and exchanging of rings.
After the lovely ceremony, the bridesmaid and best men came together for a group photo of the team, with Paul and Marisa gleaming happily in the center.
The reception was held at their lovely poolside verandah. Guests were encouraged to write their wishes and drop them into the wine glass. A simple family tree was drawn and red ink was provided to ink the guests’ fingerprint on them. If you take a closer look, it creatively resembles a family tree with red flowers blossoming.
Colorful flowers ornate the tables again and pictures of Marisa and Paul’s travel from Santorini to Athens create meaningful touches to the table deco.
The menu was a tough one as it needs to cater for guests from all parts of the world. For starters, they have Tuna Poke with Tempura, Salmon with a dash of horseradish cream, preserved lemons topped with rillete, chives and scallion. Next was a summer dish of Stone fruit salad, Coconut milk ricotta with arugula and almonds. Grilled stuffed pork was served as a main course accompanied with tomato panzanella, sousvide potatoes, grilled bacon and corn salad. Last but not least was some assorted pies for dessert and the wedding cake that’s beautifully topped with various berries.
With a warm smile, Marisa and Paul received toasts and blessings from everyone. Look at the Marisa’s wedding ring , isn’t it perfect within the petals of the delicate flower?
Evening sets in soon enough. Everyone brandished their own firework sticks to create mini fireworks. Guests of all ages join in the fun and the joyous atmosphere soon became contagious.
Paul and Marisa started a romantic wedding dance, which soon turn to a yodel. Guests joined in and the swiss yodeling took center stage over the romantic chain bulbed lights.
Just like how all fireworks sparkle at first and faded away. So did the wedding day. However, we do wish the sparkle within them remain. Thanks again to Melina Wallisch and no pun intended, thanks to Merisa and Paul for this blast.
