Q: What were the early days of your career like? Did you have to test a lot in the beginning to build your profile?
A: The early days of my career involved a lot of playing around to see what worked best and a lot of playing with different ways to create the same or similar looks/styles. Sometimes that meant starting over and trying again, but practice makes perfect and I like to think I can recreate just about anything I see now because of it.
Q: What fascinates you about this line of work?
A: The beauty industry has so many different faccets, but what fascinates me the most and why I love it so much, is the ability to make a woman feel truely beautiful both inside and out. That smile when I finish working is why I do what I do!
Q: How would you describe your style of makeup? Can you show us an image of your work?
A: My style of makeup is natural perfection. I like to keep my clients looking like themselves, but increase their confidence by providing that something extra they don’t get every day!
Q: What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to a soon-to-be bride?
A: Facials! I also specialize in skin care and in the next year I really plan to encourage better skin care leading up to the wedding. This includes regular monthly and even weekly facials. Not only will your makeup look better, but your skin will look amazing for that honeymoon when you may not want to wear makeup every day.
Q: Tell me what are the three tools in your make up kit that you can never, ever be without?
A: Flash pallette – I can create everything with this!
Lights – good lighting is crucial to good makeup
At least 3 brushes(any 3) – I forgot my brushes for a wedding and was able to do everything I needed with what I found in the bottom of my bag
Q: Advice for young make up artists who are just starting out and want to be where you are, at the top of the industry?
A: Practice, take classes, learn from others, invite and accept criticism, and take pictures. If you always seek to better yourself and put the needs and wants of your clients first, success will follow
