Brought to you by the photographer Gregory Kalampoukas, Kimon & Tania’s Wedding in Kythera Island Greece is a beauty to behold of. Up to par with well-known places like Bora Bora, Fiji, Bahamas and the Hayman Island, Kythera is one of the seven main Ionian Islands of Greece albeit lying the most distantly opposite the south-eastern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula. From the warm sun basking the reddish-hued brown beaches, the lapping shores of crystallized blue, to the magnificent and muted green mountains, Kythera has that touch of ingenuity that none other has. The wedding was held in the Castle of Chora and the party was held at The Windmill Resort.
With beaches, undoubtedly come strong winds, and Kythera has a breeze that soothes you. Huts covered with roofs of undulating hays greet us and daybeds are strewn across the coast of the Windmill Resort, giving users access to the breathtaking shoreline and infiniteness view of the sea. Here is where guests invited by Kimon and Tania gather to celebrate the wedding. With laughter, everyone mingled and enjoyed themselves, at the same time being happy for Kimon and Tania and excited for the wedding to come.
The party was full of joy, not only for the guests but for our main heroes, Kimon and Tania as well. It’s a day right before the big day and after all the preparations, its time for some relaxation! Tania in a swimwear bodice was looking great in shades here while Kimon is tugging her along in a simple graphic tee with beach shorts. More intimate photos of them enjoying the atmosphere of the party ensued and also to showcase how Kythera is an amazing wedding site that guarantees you an album of top-notch photos!
The wedding day begun with clear blue skies. Along with Greece’s famous white architecture slabs, the whole scenery was of that a romantic blue and white, a mixture of calmness, belonging and inspiration. To keep the Greece theme going, our groom Kimon picked a navy suit befitting the wedding.
His groomsmen were helping him with their shirts, cuff links, gelled hair and the look of excitement and happiness on their faces were clear to be seen. Clapping away, they were glad that their best friend was about to tie the knot and on his way to being a full-time family man now!
Our bride and her bridesmaid were also having the time of their lives, preparing themselves well for the wedding. Tania’s dress was a simple piece with some sheer detail. Preferring to focus more on her natural beauty, her makeup was also simple. The result was absolutely stunning when photos of her were taken in her wedding dress. Meanwhile, two kids with matching white gowns became the flower girls.
After the preparations, the groom and the bride were now off to the Castle of Chora for the wedding. The island’s most characteristic monument, this castle, or “Fortezza” was built in the 13th century when Kythera was dominated by the Venetians. Also known as the “Eye of Crete”, the Castle of Chora provides the observance of ships on three seas simultaneously – the Ionian, Aegean and Cretan. With its interiors built over different phases of the island’s history, the largest and main part including the facade was built in 1503 by the Venetians, who repaired and reconstructed it.
Kimon and Tania gathered inside the Castle of Chora with their audience. As they exchanged vows and tied the knot, guests look upon fondly, all eager to witness this moment of love in Kimon and Tania’s lives.
Showers greeted them as they exit happily married. These lovebirds have finally married. And now is a time for celebration!
“As the sun rises and the sky brightens, aromatic scents from the verdant landscape float throughout the Windmill Resort. Quintessentially located in the heart of Kythira, this modern resort spans across a spectacular 14,000 meters of the verdant landscape just a short walk to some of the great sites of Kythira. ” Beautiful elements of stone and a thoughtful mix of old and new architecture offer a comfortable yet sophisticated environment. Coupled with a modern approach to hospitality, its beachy and contemporary vibe allows guests to experience a celebration of the Kytherian culture where a harmonious blend of live music and mouthwatering food, come together, making it a perfect backdrop for a dream wedding’s reception.
Kimon and Tania’s wedding joins many others to top our wedding list of real weddings. With the equal charm of the Castle of Chora and the Windmill Resort to boot, what we have here is a wedding that will be mesmerized many others and inspire them to come up with their own version of romantic Greece wedding!
