Kansas is beautiful and offers brides and grooms many rustic settings to hold a country barn wedding. In contrast Kansas also provides some industrial settings that a bride can add her own feminine touch to. We are delighted to have Kansas wedding planner Ashley Moore with Events and Design by Ashley to share with us some of the up and coming wedding trends.
Q: Hi Ashley, we are so glad we have the opportunity to learn more about you! How did you get your start in wedding planning? Is there a particular aspect that draws you to the industry?
A: Events and Design By Ashley evolved while on a missions trip to Kenya, Africa. I had been working for a company that decided to sell due to a move and it was the right time for me to step out on my own. A group of friends who attended the missions trip with me encouraged me to take the risk of starting my own company to fulfil my passion for design and desire to serve others. Of course the ability to create designs that are personal and unique offer both a challenge and great reward when the final product is implemented.
Q: In Kansas what are some of your favorite venues and why?
A: Kansas is known as the wheat state. Farming is a key to our economy so barns as venues are not hard to come by. Fulton Valley Farms, Stone Hill and Grace Hill Winery are just a few of my favorites aesthetically. With that being said, some of my favorite venues happen to be old warehouses; such as Distillery 244, and Venue OneI11 that is more of an industrial vibe.
Q: What are some current trends you are seeing with weddings you are planning now? Do you have a particular style you are drawn to?
A: Rustic Glam has been a favorite here in Kansas but we are seeing a lot more industrial with elegant details to add the feminine touch! Greenery with lots of candles and lots of custom lighting are huge trends we are seeing and truly loving! Head tables are focal points that are being made elaborate and are the centerfold for eye catching, personalized designs.
Q: Do you have any favorite moments as a wedding planner?
A: Most of my clients will tell you that they become family in some shape or form! I LOVE the opportunity to meet people and walk along side them on this very personal journey to their wedding day. The most important element in planning for me is to remind my clients to not lose sight of the ultimate reason they are celebrating with family and friends; each other. I encourage them to prepare for their marriage more than they prepare for their actual wedding day!
Q: With several years of experience and many beautiful weddings to show for it where do you see yourself in the future?
A: Events and Design by Ashley started out with a logo purchased off of etsy, it has now grown to being able to accommodate events for not only weddings but many corporate events as well. Our growth has taken us statewide and even out of state! Our team is growing in numbers which allows us to take on more events. We are very blessed by our client referrals and intend to continue building strong relationships with vendors and future clients.
Thank you for sharing such great information with us Ashley! What beautiful insight to always remember to focus on each other and marriage not just the wedding day. To find out more about Ashley Moore and weddings in Kansas check out Events and Design by Ashley.
