Brought to you by La Bride and Ferri Photography, Justin and Jemma, a couple who met 7 years ago is here today to tie the knot. Pulling it off with a simple and elegant barn wedding, they were all out to celebrate this special ceremony with their families and friends. And guess what? They did it so well that we are of certain that this wedding will remain everlastingly in their minds as well as ours.
It all started with mutual friends coming from both parties. Who would have thought that 7 years later, they would be married? Justin who was younger and 19 then, was working at a bar. Older and in her twenties, Jemma was already working a full time job. Hence, it came as a total surprise for her when she met her soulmate, Justin at his university. Brazen like a bull, Justin tried on many occasions to get Jemma to agree on a date. After tons of let-downs, she finally gave in and their love began.
When the summer of 2013 came, they spend their weekends away together, enjoying the fun that comes along with summer holidays and festivals. Unfortunately, it ended just as swift as it came. Summer blues kicked in. Moaning to Justin about how fast their summer fun is dissipating, Jemma got a hopeful reply, ‘ It’s your birthday next month, I will plan a surprise for you.’
Little did Jemma know that this surprise had been planned since May and her chief bridesmaid and her best friend Natalie had been hiding her engagement ring (and all the plans!) for a few months now. Banking on her guesses and totally convinced by Natalie that she was to have her hair up on her birthday, she checked in to her hotel without a slightest idea what was coming next.
Inkling soon dawned on her when she was dropped off at the embankment to get on River Thames Dinner Cruise. There laid a best table with an equally amazing view. After the dinner, Justin urged Jemma to get to the deck where a dance floor was waiting. Although hesistant at first about the rain, Jemma relinquished. Out of the blue, Justin got down on one knee and popped the question. Jemma who was struggling with her tears, stuttered with her yes and in that split second, the raining experience on the deck became a minor matter.
When it came to choosing a wedding theme, things became easier as both of them had a similar taste. Classicalism and elegance was preferred, so they went for creams, champagne and blush tones. Funny thing was, despite being a typically indecisive Libran, Jemma never once doubted the choice of her wedding dress. It was an illusory neckline wedding dress from Intuzuri, Lola Bridal, with all the lace glamour and a sexy buttoned-up back. To get the same style for her bridesmaid, Natalie got dresses from Chi Chi, Asos, sporting a similar neckline.
To tone down the details of Jemma’s wedding dress, the jewellery was kept minimal with a Tiffany bracelet from her mum. To go with the diamond tennis bracelet gifted to her by amazing bridesmaids from Bond Jewellers, matching designer shoes from Jimmy Choo were handpicked. Keira Miller from Belle Beautique did an amazing job on Jemma’s makeup while her hair flourished under the talent of Lucie King from Daniel Granger Hairdressing.
Justin did not leave himself out of the shopping spree too. In DKNY for the wedding, he was clever enough to take this opportunity and treat himself to Kurt Geiger wedding shoes. Him looking smart and handsome was a tearjerker again for Jemma. Out of his usual casual clothing, Justin was all-different and when he was all suited up, Jemma turned teary, let alone the altar.
The ceremony proceeded with them exchanging rings and striding happily away from the aisle married. Shots of them after the wedding smiling blissfully in each other’s arms ensued. The reception started hereafter where guests gather to celebrate, give toasts and blessings to the newlyweds. Not to forget Anne and Alysha spruce the wedding up with a beautiful bouquet while Gardners Bakery baked a cake here that was so tasty that guests kept returning for a second helping.
As the sun sets, the reception ended as well, bringing a beautiful closure to the day. Thanks again to Jemma and Justin for this lovely wedding addition into our list and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
