The lucky couple wanted this day to be elegant but not extravagant, and that describes the subtle beauty of this wedding perfectly. Javier and Kaili’s wedding in California was documented by wedding Jasmine Lee Photography and stands out as a great inspiration for anyone looking for a very sophisticated style amongst the charm and casual feel of family and friends celebrating this standout couple.
“The inspiration behind our wedding was quite simply, and in one word, California. Having strong family ties to the Bay Area and a large percentage of out of town guests, many of whom had never been to California before, we wanted to capture some quintessential (but not too cliche) California elements in our wedding.” – The bride
A touching, and cheeky ‘first look’.
Simple but elegant floral arrangements were chosen for accents of spring colors. The lavender matching the sprigs in the button holes for the men.
The service was held at the Chapel of Our Lady, a non-denominational chapel. The intricately painted ceiling beams in the chapel with an aisle ending in a floor to ceiling window had just the charm and simplicity we that makes this wedding as subtly elegant as possible.
Not too far from the Chapel of Our Lady is the Golden Gate Club in Presidio of San Francisco, the reception venue. The Spanish style architecture and views of the Golden Gate Bridge gave the guests the full feel of California. The main reception area had large floor to ceiling windows offering spectacular views of the sunset over the Bay and the Bridge that makes for a wonderful opportunity for natural light in the venue, and a great backdrop for nighttime photos and delighted all the guests.
Many elements of this wedding were DIY. The table number holders were made by the bride’s sister/maid of honor out of wine corks from a San Francisco wine bar; the place cards doubling as favors were a DIY craft of succulents planted in mini gold pots; and the guestbook was custom made from Etsy with the state of California printed on the front. Everything working so well together.
“Overall, we were aiming for a wedding that was simple but beautiful, elegant but not extravagant, and highlighting the best aspects of the Bay Area.” – The bride
We believe you achieved exactly that, Congratulations!
