When Should I Have My Colour, Waxing & Facial Treatments Done, Prior to My Wedding Day?
-Taryn is a professional Makeup Artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
-Taryn’s professional background is in marketing and advertising, and anything creative appeals to her so she gets a real rush being involved in weddings, special events and photo shoots. She sees every client as a beautiful canvas looking for enhancement as opposed to a complete change, she loves bringing out her clients’ best features and getting their stamp of approval – at the end of the day her job is to make you look and feel beautiful.
Do you do these kinds of beauty treatments regularly? If so, and you do not have any skin sensitivity issues or bad reactions, I would advise that you do hair colour a week before the big day to allow time for tones to settle, eyelash/eyebrow tints and extensions approximately 2-3 days before your event so they are still ‘fresh’ but have had time to settle. Waxing a day or 2 before the wedding, so there is absolutely no time for re-growth but any redness will have disappeared by then. A facial treatment needs to be done 2-3 weeks before the day as most good salons will offer extractions which may slightly mark the skin in the first few days. Often in the week following a facial, many of your skins impurities will start to work their way out, and that is not something you want to be stressing about at your wedding. If you have never experimented with these types of beauty treats before, I highly recommend starting with them in the months leading up to the wedding so that you can avoid any skin flare up’s a few days before. In beauty, preparation is always key!!!
