When Should I Book for My Makeup and Hair Trial?
* I have been working successfully as a freelance makeup artist for the past 18 years. During that time, I started doing home visits from recommendations and enjoyed using my industry knowledge to offer one-to-one, tailored services.. so the natural progression was to specialize in mobile makeup consultancy.
I would recommend to have your Makeup or hair trials 4 to 8 weeks before your wedding. Details to consider are, you may have a tan nearer the wedding time, or perhaps lose some or all of your tan, or you may even change hair colour. All those details are important so that your trial is a true reflection of what you will look like on the day and which colours and tones will suit you best to compliment you hair and colouring. Some clients requested to have their makeup trial a week or two before their wedding and that is fine too if that works better with their schedule and travels. Others had their trial up to 6 months or more in advance, and that can also be fine, but it may then be in a different season, so the light is different such as in summer and winter, or the skin and hair tones may change in that time as explained above. So my recommendation is up to 8 weeks in advance is the perfect time to have your trial and get a true idea and representation of what you suit and will look like.
