It’s your wedding day and it should be one that represents you in every way. Yet with the plethora of trends out there it can be hard not to get overwhelmed and lose track of what you really like and want for your special day. Luckily we have Cotswolds London Wedding Planner Jane Riddell from Planned for Perfection to give some advice on how to use trends to shape your own personal wedding style.
Q: Hi Jane, We are so glad we are able to get to know more about you! Will you tell us a little about your background and how you got your start as a wedding planner?
A: Thank you for asking us to collaborate with La Bride. Before setting up Planned for Perfection ten years ago, I had a career in Hotel Management, working in some of the UK’s most prestigious venues in all areas of hospitality and event management. I always loved the wedding and events element of the job during my career and so decided to set up my own wedding & event business. Initially it was a part time role, as the company grew from strength to strength over the years, it became a full time role managing all aspects of the company and our couples.
Q: What are the services you provide? How far in advance should a couple contact you to help plan their wedding?
A: Our most popular service is our Full wedding planning, Style and Design service, but we also offer bespoke services which are created to suit couples individual requirements and specific needs for their wedding day.
Most couples contact between 6 – 12 months before their wedding, that said, we have been working with one couple for the last 18 months ahead of their wedding this Summer, we planned a wedding in six weeks at The Savoy in London a few years ago and most recently, we are looking after a couple who have booked us to plan their Summer wedding in the Cotswolds in less than three months!
Q: How would you describe your personal style? What are some trends you are seeing with couples you are working with right now?
A: My personal wedding style is bespoke to each client. Each and every wedding is unique and so it is important to remember that ultimately, it’s about each individual couple and their dreams for their wedding day and this doesn’t necessarily include latest trends. We provide a very personal approach to wedding planning, by helping couples to create a day that reflects their personalities in a distinctive way. Whilst trends are great for inspiration, we believe it’s important to create a wedding day that ensures that each couple’s wedding day vision is brought to life, during an enjoyable and professional wedding planning journey. If they don’t have a specific vision then we offer plenty of ideas and styling inspiration to ensure they have the perfect day.
This year, the Pantone colour of the year is greenery and this has had a huge impact of 2017 and 2018 weddings and the delightful thing is that it can be used in so many different ways, giving a unique look each time.
Q: You’ve had many accolades and accomplishments in your career so far. Where do you see your talent and success taking you in the future?
A: We are very lucky as we adore what we do on a daily basis and to constantly have such wonderful feedback from our couples is even better!
As such, we want to continue providing new couples with the best wedding planning possible and continue as one of the UK’s finest luxury wedding planners.
