Photographed by Darin Collison, this wedding album of our bride Adriana and groom Andrew is a beauty to behold. The traditional ceremony was held at St Mary’s Star of the Sea, West Melbourne, a Catholic cathedral that’s highly popular as a wedding venue while the reception was held in the Stones of Yarra Valley. Blowing the minds of 170 guests, Adriana and Andrew’s wedding is one of our favorites for this month and if you’re skeptical about that, just check out below and let the romantic scenes and funfilled lights prove the point.
Christmas holidays means a lot to Andrew and Adriana. So it was not surprising that they met through mutual friends on their Christmas getaway in the beach of Mornington Peninsula. Dates went by, and a stronger bond formed. During a weekend away at Adriana’s parent’s holiday house at Lorne, and after a very long and beautiful day of site seeing down the Great Ocean Road, Andrew proposed at one of their favorite places in Lorne at Teddy’s lookout. Getting down on a knee, Andrew pulled out a ring and guess what? Adriana said yes!
Like any other groom and brides, getting prepared for the big day is just as important as the wedding itself. With the help of makeup artist Cassandra Lusi and hairstylist Rokk Ebony, Adriana got a beautiful makeover befitting a star. Accessories were obtained from Tiffany & Co., her shoes were from Valentino, personalised wedding gifts from Adorn Invitations and the bridesmaids’ dresses were from Adrianna Papell while Andrew’s equally charming suit of navy blue was from MJ Bale.
Her wedding dress was from Leah Da Gloria. Connecting with her designer, she had a vision in mind, but she strongly believes it was up to the designer to lead her on the journey. Leah’s laid-back approach to professionalism was vital in the process. In the end, Adriana’s dress was something different. She hadn’t seen anything like it and she was overjoyed with the outcome.
The ceremony at Saint Mary’s church started off with friends and family arriving respectively, excited to witness the union of Andrew and Adriana. The flower girls and boys were dressed in proper suits and dresses as well, looking spectacular. Leading the way with the bridesmaids, it was not before long that Adriana emerged with her dad, both anticipating the moment they reach the end of the aisle.
Before the crowd, the priest invited everyone to join the witness of this union. Adriana and Andrew each read their vows of marriage, followed by the signing of the papers before exchanging a kiss. Everyone brandished their phones to capture this moment of celebration, happy for the union of the couple.
Adriana had always envisioned her wedding day to be a laid-back, glamourous styled one. Since a winter style winery was perfect for this and Stones of the Yarra Valley nailed that same brief, it became the reception choice. Taking versatility to another level, Stones can be anything you want it to be. Just by hanging chandelier of florals with tea light candles, along with drooping fairy lights is enough to set the mood.
All in all, the team at Stones are amazing event coordinators. They prompt Adriana with things that she hasn’t even thought about in terms of décor. Along with the self-added fairy lighting, outdoor fire pit and birdcage for “wishing well”, there was an open fire pit outside the back doors overlooking the vineyard, it was every bit perfect for Andrew and Adriana.
To add to the special mix, Andrew also prepared some fireworks! Knowing Adriana is a sucker for those big, bright sparkles in the sky, part way through his speech, he surprised her and their guests with a show of amazing fireworks over the vineyard. It was magical. Lighting up the skies in curves and stripes, it was as if a fan of light broke out in the dim sky.
Adriana believes that the most important part of maintaining a strong relationship would be to never take yourself or your relationship too seriously and don’t forget to have fun. Nothing is perfect but to her and Andrew, their wedding day was stunning and most importantly, it was a huge celebration with friends and family, filled with love, laughter and of course, great food and wine.
Thanks again to Andrew, Adriana and the vendors that help bring this magical wedding together. Here on, we hope Andrew and Adriana have a happy and blessed life ahead!
