Orangy skies, and brick red architectures are the common sightings in Vis Island. A perfect paradise getaway for a couple who wants a romantic wedding.
Zlatko & Ana are a young couple that have met each other on their student trip across the Europe. It was actually on the Vis Island, at the beautiful beach near Komiža Town. They spent a couple of wonderful days on the Vis Island and then continued their trip together to Hvar Island and Dubrovnik and returned to their homes. Since then, none of them could have forgotten those unforgettable summer days spent at the Adriatic, so they decided to stay in touch and see each other from time to time. After some time they became closer to each other and she decided to move to his place and start a new life together.
After a while they decided to get married and their first thought was to go back to the Vis Island and invite all their dearest people there to celebrate that special day. At first they were worried about how to organise it all on such a remote place but luckily they found out there is an agency on island specialised for wedding organisation that helped them a lot in planning, organisation and coordination of their wedding.
Planning was not easy at all as most of their guests were coming from abroad so they had to organise their arrival, accommodation for a couple of days and departure. In the end, they imagined it as if they are inviting them to a short summer vacation so they rented a few holiday houses to accommodate them all. Every day was carefully planned: starting from the welcome at the Split airport, travel by ferry to the Vis Island, accommodation in the houses to hanging out together at lunch and in the evening hours. The agency also helped them organise a whole day boat trip around the island and a barbecue at the nearby tavern, which was really a great time.
And when finally that day came, Ana was very nervous. All of a sudden, her dreams became real. It all started with dressing up at their respective houses. Her hairdresser, make-up artist, maid of honour, parents and friends were all there to make it easier for her and Ana was very thankful to them.
The wedding ceremony was set up on the highest point of Vis Island, mountain Hum with an amazing view on Komiža Town and nearby islands. In the small church of Holy Spirit in the last glow of stunning sunset, they finally said YES and exchanged their vows. Everything went just as they imagined. The piano was playing their favourite song, all their dearest people full of overwhelming emotions were there at the peak of the island and it was as if they were at the peak of the world…Even now, Ana has chills remembering the lovely and dramatic moment.
Afterwards, they had a wedding party arranged at a restaurant nearby that holds a certain remembrance fro them. It was a vintage Mediterranean garden, serving up with delicious food. The night went smoothly thereafter and they sipped their wine and danced all night long to the good music playing in the background.
Words can’t describe enough how wonderful it was for them both and after having one more day of rest they all returned to their homes keeping in their hearts a new precious memory, forever to be cherished and think upon. Thanks to Zlatko and Ana for this special Adriatic island wedding, a wedding that not only holds meaningfulness to them, it showers us with a sense of welcoming too.
