“Now join your hands, and with your hands, your hearts.”
– William Shakespeare
Here at La Bride, we love our real wedding submissions just as much as the next wedding lover. This wedding of Kristina Pham and Timothy Brown, both from New Zealand, makes us ou and ah! There’s nothing more adorable than a couple so clearly in love, and who also clearly knows how to have fun. The photographer for the big day, Liam Collard Photography, wonderfully captured every loving, sincere, romantic, happy, and fun facial expression that is associated with a wedding day. This wedding, which was held on Coconut Island of Phuket, Thailand was definitely celebrated as all weddings should be!
Kristina and Tim first met one another on Valentines Day. Tim remembers “I worked with Kristina’s flatmate, and for Valentines Day her flatmate told me they had no plans, so my flatmate and I cooked dinner and delivered it to them – this is when K and I met for the first time.”
We love when brides submit their stories, but there’s just something so special and romantic about hearing the stories from the groom. They bought the ring together in Melbourne (swoon!), and Tim decided to propose on New Years Eve before they headed up to a rooftop to watch the New Years fireworks. So romantic…
When choosing a venue for a destination wedding, there are so many things to think about — understandably so — when there are so many gorgeous places on Earth to choose from. Tim shares with us that “South East Asia has been a big part of our lives in business and travel, we particularly love our trips to Thailand. The Village on Coconut Island ticked a lot of boxes for us in terms of being accommodating and flexible with all the facilities we needed. It was also reasonable in terms of cost. It is on a private island, surrounded by blue water and other islands and coast — it is stunning.”
Coconut Island is definitely stunning, just like his bride. Let’s take a moment to admire her wedding day look! With an absolutely spellbinding gown by Pronovias from Brides on Thorndon, jewellery from Swarovski, and hair and make up by Phuket Make-Up Duo, Kristina is the epitome of a picture-perfect bride.
With guests traveling from New Zealand, Australia, England, Belgium, and China, Kristina and Tim wanted this day to not only be special for them, but for their guests as well. Tim says “Obviously seeing Kristina walk down the aisle and having all of our friends and family together was amazing. For us both though [as our favourite wedding day moment], the Haka that was performed by the Kiwi boys in respect of K and I is … hard to stop!”
Tim also mentioned that one of his favourite memories was when the entire wedding party and all of the guests jumped into the pool. Based on their incredibly fun demeanour, why are we not surprised?
And with a magical moment to end the evening, fireworks lit up their private island — taking them back to their intimate evening on the Melbourne rooftop as Tim proposed on New Years Eve. Even though our hearts might not be able to handle much more, cue the romantic music, please.
