Q: How did you start your career as a Photographer? Was it always your chosen profession?
A: I started my career about 3 years ago – but I started photography as a hobby about 8 years ago. When I started to learn photography as a hobby, over time, people started to ask me if I would photograph their wedding…finally I took the leap 3 years ago and have never looked back!
Q: How would you describe your style of photography? Can you show us a sample picture?
A: My style of photography is very documentary with a flair for dramatic. I love the story telling aspect, but I also want to make sure my couples get something very special just to them…so I go out of my way to give them a look that is unique and different.
Q: How do you as a photographer make sure that the thing, person or landscape you want to shoot looks the way you want it to?
A: By talking to my couples and getting to know their story – I can help bring out the emotions that make them click. Without knowing my couples, I have a much more difficult time photographing them!
Q: From your point of view, what makes a good picture?
A: Lighting, Emotions, Shadows and Details…I look for these aspects in story-telling photography.
Q: What do you look for when building a rapport with brides and grooms and how important is it to your work as a photographer?
A: Of utmost important…I enjoy understanding their story. Without knowing them intimately, they will not let me photograph them intimately…
Q: What best advice can you give to aspiring wedding photographers?
A: Understand light and emotions! Knowing your camera helps too.
