Wedding photographers Junophoto were lucky enough to take the fabulous pics of this modern and very happy wedding. Marie and Oliver were married in Montreal, Quebec in a soup restaurant! Sounds odd, looks amazing! Marie, the bride, tells La Bride readers more.
“When Olivier and I got engaged in May 2014, we didn’t think we would get married right the following year. Not because we didn’t want to, simply because we knew we didn’t want a traditional wedding but were yet to find the right concept.”
“See, we like things to be neither superficial or ordinary. As a matter of fact, Oli painted his proposal on the master bedroom’s wall of our brand new house we’d just purchased. His proposal was unique, unexpected, truly honest and fun; it was a reflection of who we are as a couple and how we would want our wedding day to be as well.”
“Before we actually decided to officially get married, we needed to validate our vision with an expert and see how it could come to life. The second we met Vanessa Noël from HÉRA Mariages, we knew she was the perfect wedding planner for us. Not only did she confirm our concept was doable, she brought it to the next level with her creativity and expertise.”
“We found our venue on the very first visit Vanessa booked for us. The SoupeSoup Restaurant, in the Old Port of Montreal, was exactly what we had envisioned: welcoming atmosphere with an industrial-chic vibe, trendy menu and personable staff. The brick walls, wood beams, chalkboards, industrial lighting and huge windows were exactly the vibe we were looking for. Plus, it was an unusual place to get married and we could already see ourselves have a wonderful time celebrating.”
“Since the SoupeSoup decor had a lot of personality on its own, we decided to leverage it with elegant accents. We added fairy lights, brass chandeliers with black candles and hired an amazing calligrapher – Joy Deneen from Imagine Joy – for the chalkboards. The black table clothes with simple greenery paired with the restaurant’s wood accents and colored chairs added the final touch to our cozy but classy urban wedding decor.”
“With the help of Vanessa, we surrounded ourselves with a team of trust worthy professionals who made our big day a complete success. We were especially lucky and grateful to have Julia C. Vona from Junophoto as our wedding photographer; her tremendous talent shows in every shot she took and highlights the great work of everyone involved in it.”
