I guess there is no secret that destination wedding elopement are among some of our favorites here in La Bride and today’s intimate bash is no different. Because obviously, what’s not to love? And so as you may imagine, I couldn’t help but to sigh a little when I first saw the gorgeousness that was captured here. Janice Yi Photography definitely did an amazing job capturing all of this beauty. And we are beyond thrilled and absolutely excited to share her work with you guys.
The Australian couple, Jo and Dan decided to tied their knot in Greece with a romantic ceremony overlooking the sea. Beautiful, simple, and entirely laid back. Romantic rock pathway, seashell, perfect sunset and of course, the lovely smile from the couple; everything about this wedding was lighthearted and fun arranged by Daphne; from the clear blue ocean bathed in Greece sunshine, gorge layered gown from Simona that are simply shows the feministic of the bride to the gorgeous florals bouquet – I mean, see how beautiful the beachy wedding ceremony looked?!
“On their wedding day, Jo and Dan got ready at the Skopelos Village Hotel (where the cast of Mamma Mia also stayed at), then I joined them on the surreal, dreamlike Amarantos Rocks with their officiant, in addition to their lovely planner Daphne and myself as witnesses. Afterwards I was lucky to join them for dinner at Korali taverna as we watched the sun dip below the horizon.” says the photographer.
From the bride: “We wanted the day to be beautiful, serene, relaxed and romantic so we were really inspired by Greek islands! We planned the holiday before the wedding, and holidays can be hectic. So when picking the place to wed we wanted something that could let us wind down and really be in the moment. We had talked for a few years of getting married in a small seaside town, by the water, on the beach so the idea was already in our minds. We never could have imagine that Amarantos would be so beautiful though.”
“We didn’t do any DIY projects at all for the day, because the whole idea was not to make the day hard work haha. I did have a few Pinterest boards up to help me choose a look. The feeling on the day was just so relaxed, that’s my favourite memory. That we felt really at peace, calm, ready. We were excited and on cloud nine, extremely happy, but it was completely relaxed and stress free day. Just perfect for us.”
“My advice for those planning now is: do what you want. It’s easy to get swept up in what others want for the day, or in trying to make other people happy. In the end they’ll think of it as your day so make it just that. Do what you want.”
