If the food alone is not the only thing you are having an Italian wedding for, then it must be the locations. Regardless of if you choose a city like Venice, Rome or Florence, or a small town hidden in the south of the country with rolling hills and cobbled streets, your destination wedding in Italy will be a most memorable one. Our collection of Italian weddings shows off every corner of the country. Prepare to swoon!
Silvia and Roberto in South Tyrol, Italian weddings
Hello engagement session, and hello to the most serene turquoise waters with mountain reflection that you will ever see. On Lake Prags (Lago di Braies), Silvia and Roberto celebrated their engagement after 20 years together. They walk through the forest, kiss under the trees, and enjoy a picnic on the pier. Together they represent all things good and long lasting in this thing called love, and their choice of location in Italy, perfect.
Christos and Aggeliki in Rome, Italian weddings
Two days after their wedding day, Christos and Aggeliki travelled to Rome for a special post-wedding photo shoot, but with all the wedding trimmings. This newlywed couple in the old town of Roma, light up each frame as they walk through the city. This is a great inner city photo shoot that celebrates the hustle and bustle of the big old-fashioned smoke.
Ivan and Anna in Venice, Italian weddings
Destination weddings don’t have to have a huge budget, hundreds of guests and have a three-day party. There are some who like a small getaway on their own to get married and enjoy the city. Ivan and Anna were married in Venice and took the opportunity to have some great images taken in this beautiful romantic town. Gondolas (of course), Piazza Saint Marco, and the Hotel Danieli, are all ingredients to make a perfect day to be married. An inspiration for those want a more intimate getaway.
Mara and Francesco in Trento, Italian weddings
Trento is a beautiful Alpine town in Trentino, Italy, and couple Mara and Francesco were lucky enough to be married there, in the sublime village church. The reception was at the Castel Pietra Winery and the photos in the area are a beautiful whimsical forest story of love and laughter. Mostly a DIY wedding, the deco here is gorgeous.
Gemma and Adam in Florence, Italian weddings
Florence on a stormy day was the perfect day for Gemma and Adam to be married in behind the stonewalls of an old castle on the outskirts of Florence. A bit of rain, but the location screams old-fashioned indulgence, as does the gorgeous lace train of her dress!
Laetita and Bart in Tuscany, Italian weddings
This wedding is particularly good as the use of location. You’ll see newlyweds Laetita and Bart in so many different settings, all at the one location. On the hillside, in a secret garden, in the fields, against the castle walls and, naturally, at their reception at Villa Sabolini. This shows off Tuscany perfectly in all has to offer as far as location goes, but as a plus, check out the bride’s dress with removable tulle skirt, the hanging lights and the rain at the end of the night. It couldn’t get any better!
Oh, Italy, you have our hearts, thank you for the inspiration! We hope you have enjoyed this trip across the seas to the Repubblica Italiana. Until next time, and the next wedding…
xoxo La Bride
